Her life-long love for art has been an outlet for recovery and coping and paved the way for a new career. Posting her artwork on Instagram, a company known as Vida & Co discovered her work, and now Noora is one of their top designers.
Culture, traveling, music, food, and working for humanity are a big part of Noora's life. She has traveled extensively worldwide, and for her relief work alone, she spent time in Kosovo, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, South Korea, and Nepal.

All items sold here feature the artwork of Noora Elkoussy unless otherwise specified. Elkoussy uses high-quality, bright acrylics and watercolors in her abstract expressionist, non-representational, and surreal artwork. She paints in Los Angeles on gallery-wrapped wood, Gesso Bord, Clay Bord, or canvas.
Noora also uses photography, often leaning towards black and white, street and travel photography, and candid and documentary styles. She uses a Canon Powershot SX10IS Digital Camera.
After the art is complete, Noora takes a high-resolution photo and transfers the image onto the raw material via Dye Sublimation. Most, if not all, fashion, decor, and gift items are custom-made to order using Fair Trade labor.
People often are reminded of nature and the environment by looking at Noora's artwork. When painting, she is initially drawn to the canvas because of an inner nagging feeling, an uneasiness that will not cease until she expresses her creative thoughts with color. Sometimes there is a vision she attempts to paint, something seen in a dream
People often are reminded of nature and the environment by looking at Noora's artwork. When painting, she is initially drawn to the canvas because of an inner nagging feeling, an uneasiness that will not cease until she expresses her creative thoughts with color. Sometimes there is a vision she attempts to paint, something seen in a dream or even a daydream; other times, the paint pallet or the weather can be her inspiration. Mood can be a trigger too, and ironically, physical pain also compels her to paint.
